And I don't get it! However, the blogosphere is posting like crazy about this somewhat new social networking phenomenon. I don't understand why anyone, including my own network, needs (or wants) to receive instant updates on what "Rich Hoeg is doing right now". Anyhow, check it out:

As a fyi, Ross is the CEO of SocialText. I met him last year at Wikimania, and he is one smart dude, and understands this stuff better than me!

My Corporate firewall does not like Twitter. It's blocked! While I don't always agree with sites that are blocked, in this case I do. Bandwidth is precious, and right now I don't see business value in Twitter. Here is Dave Winer's opinion. He is another very respected web guru (i.e.like Ross Mayfield).
Rich, I has been asking my self the very same question.
The reason blogs work is because of search engines and accessibility.
No one needs to know what I had for breakfast. Toast BTW
But you never know with this internet thing It took me a while to figure out why I should be blogging.
I think bloggers feel disconnected and this helps them feel a part of something I guess.
... Hi Colin, Hope your toast was good! I was on an airplane flying from Minneapolis to Washington D.C. However, like you, I don't understand why anyone would care. (Rich)
