Thanks for the kind words about our evaluation process, Richard. Atlassian constantly innovates on customer experience as well as on the product so it's nice to have the recognition.

As for status updates / microblogging, we're definitely working to flesh out that feature. As you implied, we listen very closely to customers as to what features to implement in the product. Folks can vote on features and bug fixes at jira.atlassian.com. Here are some more potential features that micro-blogging fans might want to see in the product.
