Knowledge Management and Rum Drinks

The best kind of knowledge management is vacation!  I'm managing to clear my brain! The big decisions of the day are:

1. Where do we want to watch the sun go down?
2. What rum drink will we have while performing #1?

However, days are full. My wife and I ran seven miles at 6:30 a.m.; we went snorkeling at 9:00, and now at 12:30 p.m. it's time for Fantasy Baseball and my blog! I'll spend the rest of the day reading a sci-fi novel before making the rum punch daily decision.

This small resort is fantastic, Catch a Falling Star.  It's on 30 foot limestone cliffs, and our room is a weathered, but beautiful villa.  Although we don't have air conditioning, the trade winds and ceiling fans keep us very comfortable. Last night we hopped a cab into Negril (six miles) and had dinner on the beach (Jamaican jerk chicken). Life is good!

Xerox's head of research and development, Sophie Vandebroek takes you on a tour of Xerox's Innovation Island. There is nothing earth shattering, but the Second Life video by Xerox is the first engineering research presence I've seen in SL from a company that is not a "software play". Time to Fly!

My oldest of three children graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College this afternoon. Yea! Now it's off to Jamaica with our daughter ... our graduation gift.  The other kids stay home!  Rum drinks and sunsets.  Don't expect me to post for a while!

Memorial Day 2007: A Final Journey

As we start this Memorial Day weekend in the U.S.A., please stop to remember why you get a day off. Via my church's Freedom Tree, I have had the honor to be a small part of Captain Danielson's journey. This Vietnam MIA is finally coming home (KARE11 TV Video Report). I've attached a few images sent to me by Lt. Commander Brian Danielson (Ben Danielson's son) which give the details of his father's last journey. Click upon any thumbnail to view the expanded image. You will note that Captain Danielson has been promoted to Major as he comes home for his final rest.

Rumor 2.0

Okay, did I get sucked in?  Yesterday I blogged that Google was purchasing Feedburner.  Apparently there has not yet been any formal announcement. My source was The RSS Blog. If one Googles both Feedburner and Google, this seems to be a very rampant rumor.

I would have normally checked news media sources before making such a post, but I was in a hurry while posting from a hotel room while on a business trip. This taught me a lesson about the blogosphere. The story may still turn out to be true, but it is not yet fact.

Update on June 4: It's true! Feedburner purchase confirmed.
